We’re a little behind on the updates because February was very busy month for us. Andy turned 1 on February 20 and he’s practically a real man now!
He walks every where and hardly crawls at all and has even started speed walking, especially when he sees the gate is open to the stairs. He says a couple of words but doesn’t say them very often. He can say ‘sausage’ and ‘bye-bye’ and recently started waving. He also signs all done when he is ready to get out of his high chair.
He still loves to snuggle and is very easy going, but occasionally lets us know he has an opinion about things by letting out a loud squawk when we do something he doesn’t like. Andy crawls on everything and knows how to use Eden’s little riding train as a step to get up on to the couch. He loves to play with Eden and it’s really fun to see the two of them interacting so much.
Andy will be seeing an ENT in March to look at tubes for his ears. If he has to get them, we would like to do that before our flights to Kenya to make the take off and landing more pleasant. Please pray for wisdom and safety as we look at our options.

Andy and Colin shared a special day this month as Andy turned 11 months and Colin turned….a little bit older than that. 🙂 Andy is really into peek-a-boo and loves to clap when someone else claps. He’s walking more without being forced to do it and he is much better at standing alone. He makes a break for the stairs whenever he sees the gate at the bottom left ajar just a tiny bit.
Andy has pretty much stopped eating baby food which means we don’t really have many leftovers. He is an eating champ and these days eats 1/4 cup of baby oatmeal and 2 sausage links for breakfast, which is more than Eden eats. Plus he’s then hungry again 3 hours later!
We’re looking forward to celebrating Andy’s 1st birthday, even though we can’t believe how quickly the year has flown by!

After less than a month of crawling Andy is ready to take the world on two feet at a time!
PLUS, Meghan took a video earlier today of Andy clapping and playing peek-a-boo. He’s really growing up (too) quickly!

On December 20th, Andy turned 10 months old. He is so much fun right now! He is crawling all over the place and pulling himself up on everything. He can crawl up the stairs (but only when we forget to close the gate), and he walks behind his car. He makes kissing noises, tickles his lips and sticks his tongue out at us.
He loves being able to play with Eden and pushes her around in his little car which makes them both happy. Andy recently began expressing his dislike for riding alone in the backseat, he especially hates it now because Eden recently started talking to him and playing games with him in the car.
Andy had a wonderful Christmas and did really well with all of our travels and time with family. We hope that you had a Merry Christmas and that you have a safe and happy 2011!

On Wednesday Andy finally started crawling like a normal baby! He’s been army crawling for a month or so. We would put him up on all fours but he’d just rock back and forth and then lay on his belly and scoot. However, he finally got the courage (or arm strength) to stay up on his knees as he went forward and he was off! Neither Meghan nor I were forcing it (at the time) either; he just off and crawled. (He probably saw the TV remote sitting all alone and waiting to be chewed on)
Between dragging himself around and rolling he could get anywhere he wanted to. However, now he is really moving. If he sees something across the room he’ll work himself around and just go over there. If we leave him in the living room and go into the kitchen he’ll crawl over and peek around the corner at us with a huge smile on his face!
I delayed writing this post hoping that I could get a nice video of him crawling. Unfortunately he reverts to the army scoot every time I turn the camera on! However, this morning I finally caught him! See the Videos page for the video.
While I was uploading the video I noticed that it had been a few months since I posted some. You’ll be happy to know I’ve rectified that and posted about 15 videos! If you want to watch them in order, this is the first one of that group.
FYI: You can see the crawling video on the blip.tv site in a bigger player: http://wolfes.blip.tv/file/4470255
Note that there were some notable videos in this batch: Eden’s braided hair, Andy’s first teeth, Andy standing, Eden climbing onto the toilet by herself, and Andy feeding himself!
